Went To See The Guru
I went to see the guru
but the guru wouldn’t see me
‘cause he was with his banker
they were countin’ up the money
he had a great big house
he had acres of land
he was so enlightened
I could hardly stand it
he’s a Love Family man
and he knows what side his love is buttered on
I had to take my shoes off
it was a hard wood floor
all the women were barefoot
I wonder what for
there was a grand piano
there was a big TV
there was a picture of the guru
lookin’ down at me
he’s a Love Family man
and he knows what side his love is buttered on
the guru came out then
and he said hello
he said he had a revelation
I said, way to go
he said he had the answers
I said I did too
he said, oh no you don’t
I said well neither do you
he’s a Love Family man
and he knows what side his love is buttered on
you ever see a guru
when he’s blowin’ a fuse
gettin’ so mad
he could chew on his shoes
he pointed to the out door
he used his chin
and I never saw
that guru again
he’s a Love Family man
and he knows what side his love is buttered on
